B.S. Chemistry, University of Guelph, 2018.
Genievieve “Gen” Borg studied chemistry at the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada where she received her B.S. in Chemistry in 2018. In her fourth year of studies, Gen worked with Dr. Kathryn Preuss toward the design of a new 1,2,3,5-dithiadiazolyl (DTDA) radical ligand. She then joined the Preuss group as a graduate student in 2020. At the University of Guelph, her research is focused on the use of thiazyl radicals as molecular building blocks in the pursuit of molecule-based materials with technologically relevant applications. In June of 2023, Gen joined the Demir group as a visiting scholar, where her research focuses on the employment of DTDA radicals as spin bearing ligands in organometallic rare earth complexes.
