4/6/24: The Demir Group traveled to the University of Michigan for the Michigan Inorganic Chemistry Symposium 2024 (MICS). TJ and Ernesto received the Premier Oral Presentation Award and a Premier Poster Award. Rashmi Jena from the Odom Research Group at MSU was also awarded the Premier Poster Award. Congrats everyone!!

1/22/24: We are very happy and honored to receive the NSF CAREER award!!! Through the “CAREER: Design Strategies for High-Performance Bismuth- and Lanthanide-Based Single-Molecule Magnets” grant, Prof. Demir will develop with her team new rational design strategies to engender new types of single-molecule magnets (SMMs) comprising bismuth and the paramagnetic lanthanides. The project tightly integrates academic research and education in several ways to provide the highest level of education to the public and students at all stages.
